Getting Through These Rough Economic Times

These days we all have alot of expenses and we have to stretch our dollar. I recommend staying home and watching videos from your couch. Take in whatever food you like and relax in your home with a great movie. These days going to a theater is crazy. The cost of the tickets and the food could cost from $30-$100 dollars, depending on how many people you are paying for. The reason they can charge these prices is because people continue to go and pay these prices. If enough people stopped going to the theater, maybe they would be forced to lower these obscene prices.

Also have some couples over the house and play some games. Cards or board games are good. Have some wine or beer and good food. You'd be suprised how much of a good time it is without going broke. Remember you can still have fun while conserving your funds to pay bills. Happy times at home.

Lets Talk About Insurance

Many people out there do not take the time to make sure they have good insurance coverage for their auto or their home. I happen to be a licensed insurance agent in a few states and have been in the business for almost 10 years. People don't realize that the liability part of your insurance is very important. If you own a home and have any assets you want to protect you need to have high liabilty coverage for auto and home. We are in a society that loves to sue for money. You don't want anyone to go after what you have worked hard for if you have an at fault car accident or someone gets hurt at your home. If you have High liability limits that will help protect your assets if someone wants to sue you. I highly recommend getting an umbrella policy if you own a home. It is a liability policy usually 1 million or more that goes over your auto and your house. Do yourself a favor and call your agent today and find out if you are being insured correctly.

I also believe in Life Insurance and I am licensed in this as well. Life insurance is tax free to the beneficiary and does not have to go through probate from the state. If you love your family and want them taken care of in your absence if something should happen get life insurance. I recommend getting life insurance while you are young and healthy before problems arise when you get older. Be smart and do it now. There are many different life insurance policies you can get. Some even can make money for you for a retirement. Look into it. It's too important not to.

Looking for Colleges

I know many of you are starting to check out colleges for your kids who will be attending in a year or so. I know you know finding a job today is difficult for these college graduates. These kids have to pay these loans after they graduate and can't find a job. This is why it is very important you encourage your kids to go into something specialized that you know there is a need for in the job field. Do some research and find out what occupations have a need and pay well. Invest your college dollars wisely. Getting a BA or Masters in Business doesn't guarantee you a job as it did years ago. There are even some jobs that you just need a 2 year degree and you can come out with a decent job. Check out your local community colleges which are much cheaper and have some great programs. Some programs are nursing, x-ray technician, networking, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy assistant, paralegal, etc.... Just remember do your research before you send your child off to college. We as parents want them to have the best possible future they can get.

Back to School

It's almost time for the kids to go Back to School. Make sure you write everything they need on paper and keep it on you at all times. This way when you are out shopping and you see the deals you know what you need. Keep an eye on all the circulars for the bargains. Remember we have to stretch our dollar. I know we also have to get clothes and shoes for the kids and it gets expensive. Look to see what stores are having the best sales. Don't forget to treat yourself to something too. maybe pick up new music, book, clothes, shoes, whatever floats your boat. We work hard and it's ok to do something for yourself once in awhile. Really it is...We are finally getting a break from the Heat and Humidity too here in the Northeast. Enjoy the fresh air and do things outside this weekend. Go for a hike, a bicycle ride, barbeque on the deck, and just enjoy it!

Don't let those Cable Companies Get You

Aren't you tired of your cable bill going up,up,up? Whenever your bill goes up you need to call the customer service and tell them you want them to put you on the running special they are having. Usually they are quite good and can last 6mos to a year. When the special runs out call them again and get yourself on the next special. You can do this as often as you like. I have been doing this for 2 years now and it really has lower my cable payments. Learn to check out what is out there and speak up for yourself because you can't expect someone to do it for you.

Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum is an up and coming country group I started listening to about a year ago when I saw them on the country music awards. I have been hooked on their music ever since. Their first album is terrific and is my favorite. The second album " Need to Know" is pretty good too. They have really good lyrics and music that will put you in a really good mood. Too many time we live our lives always trying tp please other people. That will make for a very unhappy existance. Do things that make you happy. Stop trying to please everyone because you won't.
